John Lee Hooker
The goal of this project was to design a final album cover for a well known musician that helped transform the music industry. I created an album for John Lee Hooker, who is a major pioneer in the the world of blues and is referred to as “The King of Boogie”.
The album titled “CROWNS” refers to the different hats that Hooker wore throughout his life, and how others perceived him. His father condemned the blues as the devils music, whereas his step father said he was doing gods work by sharing his skills. However, Hooker remained determined and kept his head held high as he moved west with the hopes of becoming a star.
Within my brand words and mood board I formed a basis for CROWNS, an album that focuses on John Lee Hooker and how both his father and step father formed the man and musician he became.
